"Military Families First" is a military appreciation event in which local attractions and businesses in Fayetteville offer discounts to show appreciation to soldiers and their families. The 2010 Military Families First event will be held throughout Fayetteville on May 8, 2010 from 10 am - 5 pm . As part of the event, Cape Fear Botanical Garden will offer the following:
 

• Military discount on adult workshop: "Camp America: Family Camping for the Inexperienced."
• Patriotic scavenger hunt throughout the Garden and free toy for children who participate.
• Military discount on general admission; children under 5 are FREE.
