Accessibility: |
|
Cape Fear Botanical Garden is an outdoor garden and forest linked by a few miles of trails. Our earthen pathways are surfaced with gravel, packed earth or mulch.
For visitors with disabilities, the Garden offers the following:
- Golf cart guided tours are available by reservation, but require a 48-hour advance notice. Please call (910) 486-0221 for more information.
- Due to the kindness of the West Fayetteville Rotary Club, the Garden offers two Landeez® All-Terrain wheelchairs for our guests with disabilities. These manual, push-only wheelchairs are provided as a courtesy to guests on a first-come, first-serve basis (reservations suggested). Landeez® All-Terrain wheelchairs are ADA compliant and are suited to the flat or slightly rolling terrain of the Garden. They are not recommended for use on forest trails.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden strives to provide accessibility to all visitors to the best of our abilities and encourage those with special needs to contact us in advance by telephone or email.
The future plans of the Garden include construction of a new Visitors Pavilion Complex in which all public areas will be fully accessible and ADA compliant. In addition, the Garden will add a paved loop around our main lake that will feature two new signature gardens. The Garden also plans to have scooters available as we move into our expanded facilities. |
