Adult Workshop: Framed Flower Art with Education Specialist Valerie Deleon

Description: Explore your creative side with Education Specialist Valerie Deleon in this flower art workshop. Learn techniques for pressing and working with beautiful flowers to create stunning botanical artwork. This hands-on class will provide all the materials you need to craft a personalized piece of art to take home. The completed artwork makes a terrific addition to home décor when placed on a wall or an eye-catching sun catcher if hung in a window.
Instructor Bio: Valerie DeLeon started as an Education Specialist at Cape Fear Botanical Garden in June 2024. She received a Master’s in Biology this past December and is eager to continue sharing her passion for wild places and encouraging environmental stewardship. Valerie enjoys wildflowers, like North Carolina’s native asters and columbines, and her favorite animals have scales, like CFBG’s education animals, Carlos, Duke, and Maize.
Audience Target: This class is designed for adults, but children ages 10+ are welcome. The class is perfect for beginners or experienced artists. Framed Flower Art does require some dexterity with small items though tweezers will be provided.
Format: This is a hands-on art workshop and the majority of the time will be spent creating your work of botanical art.
