Adult Workshop: Pollinator Garden Starters with Education Manager Barbara Goldentyer

Description: Join Education Manager Barbara Goldentyer for a hands-on workshop that will get you started with creating your very own pollinator garden. Learn how to design a space that supports bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators. You’ll get hands-on tips on selecting the right plants and creating an inviting environment for these important species. Plus walk through our butterfly stroll for inspiration and take-home pollinator-friendly seedlings. Perfect for beginners and garden enthusiasts alike!
Instructor Bio: Barbara Goldentyer has been the Education Manager at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden since 2019. She holds Master’s Degrees in Environmental Studies and Sociology. She is passionate about environmental conservation and loves pollinator gardens because of the joy of watching animals visit the flowers.
Audience Target: This event is ideal for anyone interested in gardening. Whether you’re an amateur, enthusiast, or advanced-level gardener, you’re all invited to enjoy this workshop. The event is geared toward adults, but children ages 10+ are welcome.
Format: This will be a hands-on workshop that includes an opportunity to start germinating pollinator friendly seeds, a walk through our butterfly garden, and a presentation with pollinator gardening techniques.
