Feed your Mind: Fall Gardening

Description: Just because the summer is ending doesn’t mean that fresh veggies from the garden have to. Participants in this class will leave with lots of information, seeds and plants to start, manage and harvest their very own fall vegetable gardens.

Audience Target: Anyone who is interested in gardening or learning about growing vegetables

About the Presenter: Allen was born and raised in the Clement community of Sampson County, graduating from Midway High School. He went on to receive his Bachelors and Masters of in Agriculture Education, with a minor in Horticulture from NC State University. He taught High School Agriculture and served as a FFA Advisor for 14 years. He taught 6 of those at Cape Fear High School here in Cumberland County where he served as the school’s Agriculture Academy Director.

He currently serves as the Consumer Horticulture Extension Agent for Cumberland County. He is married to his wife Amy of 24 years and has two teenage sons, Ben and Brady. Allen likes to read, write, serve in his church and piddle in his garden and greenhouse.
