Adult Workshop: Polymer Clay Jewelry August 31th 10am -2pm
Description: Use a variety of techniques to create beautiful leaves and flowers from polymer clay. The pieces will be cured in an oven or toaster oven and prepared for use in jewelry. Participants can experiment with both molds and imprints from natural objects collected in the Garden. Each participant will be able to finish a necklace and pair of earrings before the end of class. It is likely that additional pieces will be ready for the students to take home at the end of class.
Audience Target: This event is perfect for adults on their own, couples, or small groups. No experience is necessary. Children must be at least 10 years of age.
Format: A hands-on art workshop
Instructor: The instructor is Dr. Linda Sue Barnes, retired Professor of Biology from Methodist University. Linda Sue has dabbled in
crafts since she was very young and has taken metalsmithing classes at FTCC as well as a number of classes in various jewelry techniques at John C. Campbell Folkschool in Brasstown, NC. Linda Sue is a long time supporter of the Garden and volunteers weekly in the Daylily Garden.
