We’re always looking for volunteers to assist with our summer camps!
CFBG Camps –
Cape Fear Botanical Garden offers summer camps for children ages 4-15 with different week long and day camp themes. All our camps focus on fostering a love for nature with hands-on activities and outdoor explorations. Camps are May 28th-August 23rd. We serve over 300 children in camp over the course of the whole summer and we could never do it without the help of volunteers!
Volunteering –
Volunteers can sign up for one or more day or week long camps. Summer Camp volunteers are role models to younger children, help with crafts and activities, clean up and setup from camp, pass out supplies, and support children with special needs. It’s a great way to give back to your community, build your experience working with children, meet other volunteers, and enjoy a summer at the Garden.
Requirements –
Summer Camp volunteers must attend a camp volunteer orientation. The orientation will include a tour of the garden, safety training, and camp routines.
You must volunteer for the entire camp session that you select and be able to arrive 30 mins prior to camp start and stay 30 mins after the camp conclusion. There is a background check for volunteers over 16 years old. We would like volunteers to be at least 14 years old unless the volunteer is a returning camper. Volunteers must be at least 2 years older than the campers in the session they select.
T-Shirts –
Volunteers who commit to at least a full week of camp and register before April 10th will get a camp T-shirt of their choice.
Please register for the camp volunteer orientation and the weeks of camp for which you are interested in volunteering.
Thank you!
