Exploring Aromatic Plants Seminar

Discover the wonderful world of scented plants in this aromatic workshop! Learn about a variety of fragrant herbs, flowers, and shrubs that can enhance your garden and your senses. Explore how these plants produce their unique scents, their use in cooking, healing, and home fragrance, and tips for growing and caring for them successfully.

Audience Target: Adults and teens ages 10+. Ideal for anyone who is interested in getting into gardening or those who are having trouble with their current garden.

Format: Classroom Seminar

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify popular scented plants and understand the sources of their fragrances.
  • Explain the benefits and uses of aromatic plants in cooking, health, and home
  • Demonstrate basic techniques for growing and caring for scented plants.
  • Create simple projects or arrangements that showcase fragrant plants.


Fee: $17 for non-members, $5 for members
(Fee includes all materials for seminar and admission to the Garden on day of event)

Presenter: Marlena Chieffo possesses a deep passion for promoting wellness through nature-based activities. Her expertise includes Horticultural Therapy and a strong background in sustainable vegetable production. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling with a concentration in art therapy. Marlena strives to foster a compassionate, resilient and holistic approach to all of her work.
