September 16: Homeschool Day at the Garden
10am-1pm

Explore nature with your homeschool student at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. Our Homeschool Day offers school-age children the opportunity to participate in self-guided learning activities at various stations throughout the Gardens. Your child can discover wildlife, experiment with science, create nature art, and explore botany.

Learning Stations Include:

  • Life in the Pond – Explore life in the pond by using dip nets to catch tadpoles, small fish, and more!
  • Meet Live Animals! – Meet live animals and talk with expert caretakers
  • Plant Adaptations – Explore the amazing variety of plants from spikey cacti to carnivorous fly traps.
  • Watershed Demonstration Table – Explore the science of pollution with an interactive model of a watershed.
  • Building Zone – A free play building zone with everything from marble tracks to magna-tiles!

And more!

Homeschool Day is ideal for children ages 5-11 (Kindergarten to 5th grade). The program includes admission for the participating child and access to a dozen learning station activities.  The cost is $5 per participating child, plus general admission or membership for any accompanying adults or siblings.

Preregistration is appreciated, but drop-ins are also welcome!
